KOP Mentoring Network STREAM Camp Visits Hubbard South Florida
On Friday, July 31, Hubbard South Florida welcomed campers from the KOP Mentoring Network’s STREAM Summer Camp for an immersive behind-the-scenes look at the many career opportunities available in radio broadcasting and media.
The visit began with a tour of our radio stations, giving campers a firsthand look at broadcasting in action. Their first stop was the New Country 103.1 studio, where morning show co-host Chelsea Taylor shared insights into the fast-paced world of morning radio. The group then visited 97.9 WRMF, where they met the team from The KVJ Show and learned how content is created, produced, and distributed across multiple platforms.
The students wrapped up their station tour at X102.3, where midday host, Naysimone, provided a hands-on radio experience. Campers helped edit listener calls, recorded on-air breaks, and even voiced a group promotional spot, giving them a unique opportunity to experience radio production firsthand.
Following the studio visits, Market President, Elizabeth Hamma, welcomed the group and kicked off a series of presentations from Hubbard South Florida leadership. Team members from Programming, Marketing & Promotions, and Engineering/IT shared insights into their roles, discussed career pathways in the industry, and highlighted the collaboration required to keep a multimedia operation running successfully. The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students asked thoughtful questions about broadcasting, technology, content creation, marketing, and career development.
