Hubbard Media that Connects’ R&B station, WMBX (X102.3), proudly celebrates 25 years on the air.

Launched on October 23, 2001, X102.3 quickly established itself as a powerful rhythmic station serving listeners across South Florida. Over the past quarter century, the station has evolved alongside its audience, becoming one of South Florida’s leading R&B brands while maintaining its commitment to delivering great music, local information, and community engagement. In recognition of its impact on the community, the City of West Palm Beach officially proclaimed October 23 as “X102.3 Day” and presented the station with a special commendation honoring its 25 years of service. The City also joined in celebrating this milestone by hosting a free waterfront event for listeners, featuring live music and community festivities along the West Palm Beach Waterfront.

Today, WMBX serves listeners from Vero Beach through Palm Beach County, connecting generations of fans through a blend of classic and contemporary R&B while remaining an active partner in the communities it serves.

“For 25 years, WMBX has been more than a radio station. We’ve had the privilege of being part of the daily lives and shared experiences of the communities we serve, and that’s something we never take for granted,” said Mark McCray, Program Director of WMBX.

Market Manager Elizabeth Hamma added, “We’re incredibly proud to have been part of this community for 25 years. We look forward to continuing to connect with our listeners, advertisers, and community partners for many years to come. X102.3 is a truly special brand in South Florida.”

Throughout its history, WMBX has supported countless community initiatives, charitable causes, local events, and organizations across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches. The station’s continued success reflects its ability to evolve with changing listener tastes while staying true to the music, culture, and communities that have defined its identity since day one.

As WMBX enters its next chapter, the station remains focused on serving its audience with the music, personalities, and local connections that have made X102.3 a trusted companion for 25 years.
