New Country 103.1’s Tim & Chelsea Grant Jennifer’s Last Wish

When describing the Tim + Chelsea morning show, it’s clear to see (and hear!) they live by their manta, “Good Vibes & Great Laughs”.  Tim + Chelsea are trusted, respected, and seen as friends to our community. Today showed just how true those words are.

About a week ago, Tim + Chelsea received a call from a listener who shared her friend, Jennifer, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Jennifer’s diagnosis is terminal, and it was her wish to have firefighters visit for her birthday.  Without hesitation, Tim + Chelsea put the call out to local fire stations.

More than 40 firefighters from across Palm Beach and Martin County answered this call, and gathered today in Fort Pierce to celebrate Jennifer.  Just before everyone arrived, Jennifer made her way outside with her close friends and family; the first time she has been able to leave her home in more than a month. With Tim + Chelsea leading the procession, 10+ rescue vehicles paraded down her street with lights & sirens on and stopped outside her home to come together to sing her ‘happy birthday’.  Each firefighter individually met Jennifer, shook her hand, signed her massive birthday card, and made her feel as special as she deserved to feel.

Today will be something Jennifer’s family and friends will always remember, and incredibly special moment for Jennifer. She felt loved, and happy, in an otherwise extremely challenging time.
